Benefit of Videos

Benefit of Videos

Prompted (I believe) by the introduction of Snapchat (which I have no idea how to use by the way because at the age of 33 I am apparently already too old to be using it) videos on social media seem to be all the rage at the moment in terms of marketing tools. I have been trying to get Craig on the bandwagon for quite a while as he’s definitely not the shy retiring type so I think it could be beneficial for the business.

I’ve done some research on using videos for marketing and it seems Facebook are really encouraging them at the moment, particularly the use of live videos  – giving them greater reach than posts.

Videos can lead to higher engagement and it also allows your audience to get to know a person behind a business and create connection, which I think is so important particularly in the trade industry.  Potential clients are able to get more of an idea of what that person is like, which builds confidence in their decision making process before inviting them into their homes to complete a job and as we know sometimes trades are on jobs (and in their clients lives) for long periods of time.

It’s a pretty daunting thing to do videos though, particularly if you are hitting that ‘live’ button.  But I think sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and give it a try, people like relatability so it doesn’t have to be perfect. If you do go live and it doesn’t quite go to plan, I think it’s all part of the charm! Your audience will also love to interact with you and feel involved.

Do you use videos in your business? Do you get involved in them too or just leave it to your Tradie? I’d love to see some examples of videos you have done. If you are willing to share one – please do!
