TradieWives started as a Facebook group designed for Aussie Wives/Partners of Tradies that assist in the running of the business. It is a place to be able to ask questions, start discussions and bounce ideas off each other. Our community was created to assist tradies wives and partners in running a business specific to the trade industry.
My husband owns a trade business on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. As business started to pick up, I left my full time job to help run the business and try to build it up to its full potential. He went from a sole trader to a company and we started to build a great team so we were able to have a couple of jobs on the go at the one time. I started him on social media, updated the website and did a crash course in Xero. We then put a few procedures in place to help the business run as seamlessly as possible.
As a tradiewife, I would often feel quite isolated. With no previous experience in running a small business, I found it challenging to know where to look for assistance and support in the running and growth of it. I thought it would be beneficial to start a group for other women in the same position. As the group rapidly grew and progressed, I identified a need for a platform where TradieWives could go to to seek assistance in the running of the business, specifically a trade business.
There are so many requests from our members seeking business coaches, web designers, workwear suppliers, social media experts, debt collection services and a number of other products and services specific to the trade industry. This led to the creation of the TradieWives Professional Services Directory. Our directory allows businesses to list their products and services, and our members can be directed to a platform to find exactly what they are looking for.
As requested by our members we have also launched our TradieWives Trades Directory where trade businesses in our Facebook group can list their trade businesses and also search for other trade businesses who have listings from the group. There are also ‘Labourer’ and ‘Subcontractor’ categories that can be listed in if you are looking for work, or you are looking to engage these services to assist you in your trade business.
There are currently over 10,000 members in our TradieWives Facebook group and growing more and more on a daily basis. We are constantly seeking the expertise of businesses that can assist tradies and help to improve their business.
Listing your business on our Directory, enables those seeking assistance to find you quickly. When you list your business with us you have the opportunity to have a promotional post on our Facebook page, share any events/training/networking/coaching that you or your business are holding on our Events page, and share any special offers, business updates or articles with us through guest blogging on our Blog page.

“TradieWives is one of the best groups I am in (if not the best). Everyone in the group are so helpful, encouraging & supportive. I came here when I need a pick me & I have a laugh with the other ladies. I come here when I’m feeling alone & unsupported. The other ladies remind me that I’m not alone & they are here to support me. I come here after pulling my hair out trying to find the answer for this or that. The other ladies have the answers I was searching for. It’s my go to group & I would highly this group to any & all tradie wives out there.” Bec Baker
“Awesome support and ladies share all sorts of struggles with each other. Businesses from 30 plus yrs to started yesterday.” Janelle Miller
